The traveling exhibit The Way We Worked from the Smithsonian has arrived at the High Plains Museum!  The Way We Worked is sponsored by the Kansas Humanities Council and will be at the High Plains Museum until January 27, 2013.

This exhibit explores the stories of America’s workers and invites us to consider how the workplace and workforce have changed over time. Through photographs from the National Archives, audio and video clips, and hands-on components, Kansans will discover how, together, our work makes America.

The exhibit arrived Monday night and was put together Tuesday morning.  The set up went smooth and we had a blast putting it all together!  The photographs from the National Archives are amazing and we enjoyed listening to the labor songs.  There are four sections all about work; where, who, how and why.  Along with the exhibit about how that nation has worked, there is also an in-house exhibit about how Goodland has worked over the past 125 years and games for the whole family to enjoy!

Along with the exhibit at the museum, there are several companion exhibits and activites happening around town.  The Goodland Public Library and the Carnegie Arts Center have companion exhibits while the Sherman County Historical Society has a
